How big is Mexico City?

It took me 2.5 hours to reach a clinic today (and another 2.5 hours to return), and didn’t even enter into the northern 2/3rds of the city…

On the plus side, I did get to look around a fair dedicated to amaranto, a seed used as the base of a traditional Mexican candy named alegría (literally, “joy”).  The economy of the entire village (now an extension of Mexico City) has traditionally been based on the production of these sweets.
